Max and the Magic Marker Review – The Saturday Morning Cartoon of WiiWare
Remember back in the day, when television didn’t suck? Remember in the early to late 90’s, when cartoons went through a renaissance era? I would always wake up on Saturday mornings to catch all the new episodes of my favorites. Nowadays, I can count the only good cartoons we have on one hand.

An example of a good cartoon
Max and the Magic Marker is very cartoony. From the main character, Max, with his big orange pompadour that would give Conan O’Brien a run for his money. The villain is a bumbling oaf, that looks almost like he could have been some kind of vegetable. And then of course, Max’s weapon, an orange felt tip marker that can materialize doodles to overcome puzzles and obstacles.

Suda 51 Pleased with No More Heroes 2 Reception
“Yes I am very pleased with the critical reception of No More Heroes 2 so far.” said Suda – aka Suda51 – in an interview with Develop. ”We obviously had experience already to create the game for the Wii, so by the time we developed the sequel we knew our way around the system very well.” -Suda 51
Suda loves his job, because game after game, he always gets tons of praise. He must be dirt poor though, considering his gems never sell all that much. Let’s hope NMH2 becomes one of the Wii’s many Evergreen titles.

Look out Wiebe and Mitchell, there’s a new Champion in Town

There’s a new King of Kong, and his name is Hank Chien. He managed to beat out the previous record, getting 1,037,700 points in a single game of Donkey Kong. His score is the one to beat. Looks like there’s another competitor to keep our eye on for the illustrious Donkey Kong Record. I think King of Kong needs a sequel….bad.

Why Samus is, and should get a Voice
I don’t think it’s a matter of the folks at NCL [Nintendo Co., Ltd., the Japanese headquarters] going into a room, looking at a dartboard of all their major properties and saying, “That one! That’s the one we’re going to grow!”
It’s more that there’s always been in [Super Metroid director Yoshio] Sakamoto-san’s head a big story and a big background for Samus. You can take a look at some of the manga, which isn’t necessarily related to the games, but there’s clearly more story to Samus than has ever been shown in the games. -Nate Bihldorff, Nintendo localization producer
Very true. Back in the Super Metroid days there was a popular Manga. Samus’s backstory can’t be compared to Links. Link is shrouded in mystery, and will perhaps forever be shrouded in mystery. Samus has a definite backstory and even a pretty complicated Prime Directive. Pun intended.
