The concept here is one of the most rudimentary around. It’s you, one especially angry samurai warrior, against hundreds of tactically challenged lesser soldiers who, incidentally, should have taken a leaf out of Kevin Keegan’s book, clocked that they’re not cut out for clashing swords with furious samurai and thrown in the towel. Only the nearest few seem to notice you, despite the howls of their freshly dismembered comrades, allowing you to carve a swathe through them with ease. There’s even a special name for it: ikki tousen, a Japanese term for the one against all odds style.

Neat concept. A little overdone, but perhaps SW3 will reinvent the whole “1 against a million” concept so prevalent in the hack-n-slash genre. It might be trite, but even that won’t stop me from giving SW3 a try. I’ve only heard good things…so far.
